Lets heat up Agust and September this year. We are doing a 6 week journey exploring the roots of Cuban dance from the Afro-cuban roots to the modern beats. Workshops start 20 August 2025, for 6 weeks.
We will explore the dance and music, originating in Cuba, from the modern rhythms of Cha Cha Cha to the complexity of Yourba and Bantu. Join us as we explore the culture and development of dance from Cuba.
Each week we will explore the history of the dance, try out the rhythm, see how this influences our current dances. Will you be an expert at the end – well no!. But you will feel more confident when you go to a festival and see these dances taught, you will have a little knowledge that might spark an life long interest, understand the culture and music a little more.
