Social Dancing

After a brief break, we return in 2025 on the 9th January to our regular Thrusday social dancing. Our regular weekly social dancing is at 169 Elizabeth Street, Tauranga, We have a small entry charge of $5. We need to rent the venue and as a BYO event we have to provide the non-alcoholic drinks and snacks.

Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and Zouk are social dances, you can go anywhere in the world and dance with anyone. Social dancing is a great way to practice what you’ve learnt, have fun and socialise, see other styles being danced and meet new people.

We encourage our students to attend social dance events from their very first class or even before. You need to get out there as soon as you start learning, and join the fun.

The Best place to start is regular Salsa Nights & parties that are locally run as you will have familiar faces go along to these. We are very lucky that in Tauranga we had a very long-standing Latin dance community group Bay Salsa who ran a weekly event at a local bar. This event has now moved to a local venue. This event is every Thursday, we run a free introductory class in Salsa or Bachata. It’s a great space to bring your friends who want to know what you have been up too, and get them interested in coming along to classes too!

From time to time there are other local events in Tauranga and Rotorua and they will be posted in our facebook group which is a great way to stay in touch with what is happening in the Salsa community in Tauranga.

Social dancing is fun and we regularly run Rueda’s to add to the party fun. Click the link below to see a Rueda run at a social.
